Grandma’s Tree 18 karat gold leaf on paper
I began drawing tree portraits in the spring of 2022 while staying in the woods of Amherst, Massachusetts, and continued to observe, draw, and photograph trees as I drove down the east coast and across The South. Since returning to Wisconsin in 2024, I have spent time drawing imaginary trees at Lynden Sculpture Garden and in the northern part of the state.
